Turkey’s Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG) Top Manager (CEO) Gürcan Karakaş spoke about the domestic automobile that millions of citizens are eagerly waiting for. Speaking at the International Strategic Communication Summit organized by the Presidency of Communications, Karakaş stated that they produced more than a car.
Highlighting the importance of branding, the senior TOGG manager said, “Our goal is not just to build an automobile. To create a global brand, a brand that can compete in the world, whose intellectual and industrial property completely belongs to our country. TOGG, which is eagerly awaited by millions of citizens, will start mass production in 2022 and take its place on the roads in 2023.
“The Automobile Will Become a Living Space”
Electric cars, which changed the rules of the game in the automotive industry all over the world, started to attract attention in our country as well. Along with the changing technology, cars are also changing to bring additional comfort to people. “Because we know that the car will turn into a living space, we see it.” Karakaş said that they built a living space, not just an automobile.
Karakaş stated that the data indicates that the snow pools related to the sector have changed and said: “If we are no longer focused on driving the automobile with all the technology, then what we can do at home, we will be able to do in the vehicle what we can do in our office and workplace. Therefore, the transformation of this smart device is our main motivation at our starting point.”
“We Start With 51 Percent As We Promised”
Reminding that they set out with the aim of creating the core of the mobility ecosystem in Turkey, TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş opened a separate parenthesis on the level of localism: “We promised 51 percent to ourselves, to our country, and we start with 51 percent.
There are companies that have been producing automobiles in our country for 60 years, and there are companies that produce light commercial vehicles.
When we enter the website of the Ministry of Industry, we see that these figures have changed at the level of 20 percent to 65 percent.” Karakaş also stated that they are preparing for the new world in the best way, together with their business partners in Turkey, in the TOGG project.
