The negative factors that developed in the economic markets in the new period caused a radical change in the automotive sector as well. Adding the increasing impact of the chip crisis to the rising spare part costs, the production of vehicle models with internal combustion engines was interrupted. Evaluation of this situation, also taking into account the effects of the relevant vehicle models on air pollution, led to the fact that the vehicle models that have been on the production lines for years could not be observed.
The existence of negative factors in areas that directly affect the automotive industry, as well as the zero carbon target statements from the country’s governments to prevent air pollution, mediated the majority of manufacturers to turn to electric car designs. While this situation often began to find its place on the agenda with the effect of developing technology, the expanding market shares of electric cars also received support from Turkey.
Established in 2018 to make Turkey’s first domestic electric car, Togg started its work on both the car and the factory where it will be produced in 2019. Since the first day it was founded, the company has defended that their aim is not only to produce an automobile, but that they want to make a much greater contribution to the market and that they want to expand Turkey’s mobility network, as a matter of fact, by acting in line with this desire, it has managed to leave its mark on the automotive sector in the new period.
The company, which managed to arouse great repercussions in both local and foreign press with the domestic and inborn electric car Togg, which has been preparing for a while, has also succeeded in demonstrating its difference with the test shares it has made through its social media accounts. While the developments regarding the domestic car Togg, whose contribution to our country’s economy is obvious, are closely followed not only from our country but also from other countries of the world, mass production of the vehicle officially started on 29 October.
With the Gemlik Factory, which was opened with the participation of approximately 1,300 Togg employees, government officials and other sector representatives in the past days, the mass production of the domestic automobile was also started. The domestic automobile, which was followed closely after this development, which had a great impact in the press, managed to show its difference with a new video shared by the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank. Minister Varank’s Togg post received thousands of interactions within minutes.
Togg Posts from Journalists!
The opening of the Gemlik Factory, which was held with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on October 29, 2022, was followed closely. Before the opening, the members of the press, who met with Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank and Togg CEO Mehmet Gürcan Karakaş, witnessed Togg’s performance.
Varank and Karakaş took the members of the press to the vehicle one by one and took them for a short ride on the track. After this tour, the members of the press, who talked about Togg’s performance in their new articles and could not hide their astonishment, were not taken seriously by their readers and it was thought that the performance of the domestic car was exaggerated.
Proof Sharing from Minister Varank!
A new post from Minister Varank came after some citizens thought that journalists exaggerated Togg’s performance. Sharing the video footage of the Togg performance they experienced with the journalists, Varank dropped the following note: “4.8 seconds from 0 to 100. Feel the power!” In the video, journalists, whose astonishment was read on their faces as Togg accelerated, did not escape attention.
