While the production works of Turkey’s automobile TOGG continue at full speed, important statements came from CEO Gürcan Karakaş. It was stated that small vehicles such as Citroen Ami and Renault Twizy could be produced in case of need, while the expectations of TOGG prices were answered.
Turkey’s Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG), according to the latest statements, will start mass production in 2022. TOGG, which is eagerly awaited by millions of citizens in Turkey, will be taken off the production line at the end of the year and will take its place on the roads in 2023. In the latest statements about the vehicle, it was claimed that its price could be around 1 million TL. Evaluating the latest developments on the subject, TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş made remarkable statements about the price.
“Prices Will Be Reachable When Quantity Increases”
Expressing that the main factor regarding the TOGG price in the sector is accessibility and competitiveness, Gürcan Karakaş excited the citizens. Expressing that there is a pricing related to the number of vehicles to be reached with the developing ecosystem, Karakaş said: “After all, accessibility or competitiveness is not only about the segment you are in, but also about the numbers you will reach with the ecosystem. When we look at the ‘most maximized’ Turkish market with 5 models, we think that we can reach the numbers. It may be a small vehicle, a large vehicle displacement.”
Expressing that they still have a flexible time in the process, Gürcan Karakaş noted that by the end of the process, there will be more accessible points in terms of price. The price of TOGG, which is eagerly awaited by millions of citizens in Turkey, is still not clear. Officials said that the net prices for TOGG, which we will start seeing on the roads in 2023, will be determined after production.
Different Models According to the Need of the Market
It was claimed that after TOGG’s SUV model, small electric cars such as Citroen Ami and Renault Twizy could be produced according to the needs of the consumer. Stating that micro-mobility solutions can be applied in the future regarding these claims, TOGG CEO Gürcan Karakaş said: “This is a bit about the development of opportunities in the market. Our 15-year plan doesn’t mean we can’t go beyond that. In addition to the products we produce, the micro-mobility solutions we mentioned consist of products that can be put into action much faster technically.” Finally, Karakaş stated that the sales of TOGG and other smart devices will start in the first quarter of 2023.
