Murat Günak became the Design Leader at TOGG

Murat Günak, the former chief designer of Volkswagen and Mercedes-Benz, who has supported the design studies of Turkey's Automobile Enterprise Group (TOGG) as a consultant since the beginning, will work full-time as the "design leader" at the company as of April 1.

In the video post made on TOGG’s LinkedIn account, the expression “Our world-famous designer Murat Günak, who was with us as a consultant when we started #YeniLigeYolculuk, joined our team as TOGG Design Leader as of April 1” was used.

In the short video in the post, it is seen that an e-mail was sent to Murat Günak from the TOGG account with the words “Dear Murat Günak, we are happy that you will continue our journey as a consultant from the beginning as of today. Welcome to the TOGG family”.

Who is Murat Gunak?

Born in Istanbul, Murat Günak studied industrial design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kassel, Germany, after graduating from secondary school in Istanbul.

After graduating, Günak worked at Ford Germany for 2 years and then worked as a designer at Mercedes-Benz for 8 years. In 1994, he was appointed as Peugeot’s Design Chief. Günak returned to Mercedes-Benz and DaimlerChrysler in 1998 as Vice President for all passenger cars.

Günak, who joined the Volkswagen brand group design team in April 2003 and took charge as the Volkswagen Group’s Design Manager on January 1, 2004, was responsible for the design activities of all brands in the group.

Among the cars designed by Günak are the Mercedes SLK, Mercedes C Series, Peugeot 206, Volkswagen Eos and Volkswagen Golf GTI.

On the other hand, the number of people who have participated in TOGG “with reverse migration” has increased to 23 with Murat Günak. The development in question is interpreted as “TOGG’s contribution to reverse migration”.
