Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, who made a presentation at the AK Party’s Kızılcahamam camp, said that TOGG could go to traffic before the announced calendar. Domestic and national car TOGG is expected to be released to traffic in the first quarter of 2023.

It has been learned that Varank stated that the car, which can be produced in a certain number towards the end of this year, may start to be used by state elders at the first stage. On the other hand, it was learned that many deputies who wanted to buy Togg conveyed their demands on this issue.
GLOBAL BASE IN INDUSTRY
In the presentation where Varank explained the investment, production, employment, incentives and infrastructure works that will make Turkey a global base in the industrial sector, value-added production in the industry has increased, the share of automotive has increased from 10 percent to 12 percent, the share of base metal has increased from 9 percent. It was stated that the share of the machinery sector increased from 3 percent to 6 percent. It was also noted that the share of exports in processed food and beverage products with high added value increased. OIZs were also discussed in the presentation.
MANUFACTURING 60 THOUSAND FACTORIES IN OIZs
It has been stated that more than 60 thousand factories with 2 million 250 thousand employees are producing in 336 Organized Industrial Zones (OIZ), where incentives and loans are provided. It was emphasized that direct employment was provided to over 342 thousand people in 96 thousand workplaces in 489 industrial estates, which were completed with an investment of 3.6 billion liras made in 20 years. It was stated that approximately 1.2 billion TL resources were allocated for 120 projects to support youth and women’s employment, and 70 thousand people would be employed in 175 workshops.
WE ARE IN THE START-UP SUPER LEAGUE
In the presentation, which stated that the R&D culture has developed in the private sector, it was emphasized that there has been a significant increase in domestic patent applications in the last 20 years. Turkey has been promoted to the super league in Europe in technology start-up investments. Last year, an all-time record was broken both in terms of investment amount and number of investments, and 1 billion 552 million dollars were invested in 321 investment rounds.
Compared to the previous year, the amount of investments increased by 9 and a half times and the number of investments increased by 47 percent. In 2021, Turkey became one of the 10 most invested European countries. It ranked 2nd in the Middle East and North Africa. Istanbul ranked 13th among the cities that received the most investment in Europe.
With a total investment of 1 billion 273 million dollars in the first quarter of 2022, Turkey moved up to the Super League, which is the highest league in Europe, including England. In the first quarter of 2022, Istanbul ranked 4th in Europe in terms of total VC and angel investments, breaking its own record.
